I was up early enough to have a trim, bath & a shower in the hotel.
At 10:30 we all gathered to walk into the south terminal. This is directly connected to the hotel, making things very easy.
There was no queue at the fast pass security & we got settled in the BA lounge. This one obviously is larger than the one at Newcastle but the principle being the same just more choice. By 11:30 I had sampled a fair few of the different options. We managed to arrive on the transition between breakfast & lunch allowing more food to be enjoyed. I had noticed on Facebook that a lass from work was returning from Orlando with her family to Gatwick. Sure enough as we headed to our plane I bumped into Karen in departures. Small world.
So to the flight, what a delight. I could have stayed on for much longer. Going left when you get on the plane is definitely the best way to go. A couple of glasses of champagne & a wine menu being provided before takeoff ensured things were always going to go well.
My flight was accompanied by numerous glasses of 2014 Chablis that you helped yourself too outside the standard drink trolleys. Being able to put your feet up & lie back made the whole experience. The food was incredible as well. Cumin salmon to start was followed by a noddle prawn salad. As we came into land ahead of schedule I was slightly disappointed. Especially as after landing we were kept on the plane for almost an hour due to our gate not being free & immigration being backed up. I could have finished my movie & had some more wine!
Alex our driver came to collect us very promptly. We collected some groceries & the keys to the villa.
The villa itself is fantastic with large pool area & jacuzzi. In the garage there is a pool table, poker table, darts, table tennis & fuseball.
Once we had all picked a room Charlotte & I popped into the pool briefly before calling it a night.
