Every Friday is a Holiday when you spend all week working and getting up at 5am. This one was no different. We spent a few hours on our balcony just taking in the sun and smiles. And greetings from a few floors down. Funny how social Australians are-they invite you to their place just from walking by. We had plans anyway-it was Lillians 21st anyway-dinner at Strand. Finally I got to taste the kangaroo. And was that a meal and a half. Wow! The Strand is arguably Glenelgs best restaurant. Great food, great atmosphere and professional service. Can´t go wrong with that!
Since I spent Saturday doing absolutely nothing (!) I decided to go for a bit of a hike today. I needen´t bother to set my alarm-because this fundraiser run was on. (http://www.city-bay.org.au/) The finish line happened to be on OUR street. Which meant 25 000 people outside our door before 9am on a Sunday. But the professionals obviously ran way faster-so they got here around 830. which meant the mandatory sound check of the event stage set up in our local park started even before that. I was woken up at 730 to the sounds of "One-two, one-two-two-two." (Can someone please teach sound check people to count further than 2??? Or atleast to use another phrase. It´s rather annoying, the one-two. hmpf!) Anyways; I was out the door for the longest walk yet. To a quiet little marina called Seacliffe. Took me about 1 1/2 one way. Totally worth the walk! When I got back it was time for the Sunday-rice porridge. yum! I even made this lemon cake that one of the psychiatrists at work are making every now and then. We all kept hassling her for the recipe, it´s just fantastic-even the half assed attempt in the micro wave (our oven-substitute) turned out to be one of the best cakes I´ve made.
Tomorrow is the start of a new week. Must get up at 5am. ah
