I´ve just come back from a getaway to the sun and smiles of Queensland, sunshine state. Most definitely very lovely indeed. Left Glenelg last Wednesday, got to Brisbane after a couple of flights there, including a stop over in Melbourne. Didn´t have to wait for too long, only about an hour. Which was good-airport food isn´t all that. I got in to Brisbane at about 7pm, was picked up by my dear friends Olivia and Silvana that took me out to the Valley that night. mmm. On Wednesday night there was a gig at Troubadour with the lovely Ginclub. (http://www.theginclub.com.au/) Coming back to Troub were I´d spent so much time a few years back was strange but in a good way. It felt like coming home, but to another family if that makes sense. Anyhow; On Thursday the Macarone sisters took me to a stand up show, which was great fun as it should be. One guy told rude jokes whilst solving a rubiks cube within 2 minutes. How on earth is that possible?!? (I´m stuck with an unsolved cube myself-but what a lovely gesture, though-the Macarones gave me one on Sunday night. It´ll remind me of that stand up comedy night and great times shared! And it´ll give me something to do on the plane going back to Norway. Because I don´t reckon I´ll have solved it by then)
The Valley Fiesta was on over the weekend-quite the festival of food, music, Bourbon&Coke. (when in Rome...http://www.valleyfiesta.com.au) I also stayed with my very good friend Mel over the weekend-got to say hi to her cat and her flatmates at the house where I stayed for 6 weeks-can´t believe I made it back there! Some good memories happened at that house some years ago! This visit ended with a meat-fest provided by one of her flatmates. He´d been winning these meat trays, as you do sometimes when you buy raffle tickets in Australia. Yum-I didn´t know I was craving it that badly-those student meals are most definitely not the meaty ones, so good to stock up on some proteins.
I got back into Adelaide today-to what must be the windiest day of the year! It literally feels like this building is moving. If this continues tomorrow-I most definitely will go for a walk on the beach! The waves are massive! mmm
Back to reality tomorrow morning-the alarm will go off at 0455 an I haven´t slept much over the weekend due to the holiday in Brisvegas. zzz
