Hello again
Its been three weeks now, i can't believe how quickly time seems to be going. Still having a fantastic time. The Full moon was brilliant, think we managed to crawl in at 8 the next day- there was lots of UV paint and i had three lizards and a snake put on me over the duration of the night/morning.
Went off to Koa To after the full moon to have a little break. Here we wnet snorkelling and saw some baby sharks and lots of colourful fish. We stopped off at the most beautiful Island which was connected to another island by a strip of beach. Climb up the mountain trail which was very hard work as the so called steps they have built are quite dangerous. Once we finally made it to the top i got my camera out to start snapping away and the battery ran out so i will have to steal Abbi's.
Had a 28 hour journey to Chiang Mai following our 3 days on Kao To, which involved a 4 hour boat trip folloewed by a 4 hours wait in some run down port, then an 8 hr bus trip followed by a 12 hr coach ride (with no toilet!!- i only needed it once though and we had stopped off) Once in Chiang Mai we booked our selves on a 2 day trekking tour of the jungle which was soooo much fun- we visited a water fall and got to swim, then we had a 4 hr trekk- and i mean trekk!!!! lots of hills. I will never complain again about the walks mum and ddad make us go on thats for sure. I got attacked by a leach but the tour guide cut it off with his knife. We stayed over night with a tribe in their little village, there we 160 people and only 20 huts and we got one to ourselves. They fed us so much food, it was lovely. The next day we went had some more walking to do before we went on an elephant ride- best part of the trip so far!!! most amazing experience. I got to sit on its neck which was quite nice until he started bending down to rip up plants and i went with him. I had very sore legs by the end as i clung on so hard. After the ride we got on a bamboo raft and sailed off down the rapids. The guide let me steer the raft for a while. It was such hard work and my arms are still hurting now!!! we almost tipped over so he took charge again.
Last night me and Abs went on a bit of a shopping spree- the markets are great out here for a bargin. Girls you have to get out here!!! Chiang Mai has everthing you could ever wish for.
Off to Loas today on a 24hr bus ride yippeeee. Will be floating down rivers and visiting the bars along the way here.
Will up-date again soon. Sorry about the lack of pics. I can't get them to upload on here it takes forever but they are on facebook
Lots of love H xxxxxx
