Phom Penh, Cambodia... Here we visited the killing fields where in 1980 the bodies of 8955 ppl, victims of Pol Pot & his Khmer Rouge comrades were exhumed from 86 mass graves. It was a very strange place to vist- so quite and slightly disturbing as some of the victims clothes are still in the ground that you walk over. Met a lady who was 82 and from America!!!! what a legend she had been traveling for the past 50 years!!! and knew everything. She told us how emerying had changed and that the killing fields now belong to the Japanese as Cambodia couldn't look after it anymore because of costs- very sad really. We went out for food that evening and while we were sat eating away a guy casually strolled past walking his elephant!!!!! What a sight, i thought i was going crazy but sure enough it was real.

7th Oct.. Siem Reap had just been hit by the Typhoon so the roads were flooded and even some hotels had to close down as their bottom floors were under a metre of water! We spent a day chilling out and walking round the centre of town, looking at all the markets which was nice and relaxing. On the 7th we rose with the early birds to avoid the queus at the ticket office. Theara our Tuk Tuk man came to pick us up at 7.30. After collecting our tickets we drove through eh morning mist past huge man made lakes, where we spotted a small grp of monkeys. The first temple, Prasat Kraven was empty- we were first there so got some good pics without millions of Japanese tourists in the background. Visited a lot of temples after this, all quite different but still all temples so i wont bore you with all the info. We visited one temple which was where Tomb raider had been filmed. It was a great temple as trees had grown on some of the brick work and the roots were wrapped round the walls which looked really cool. Finally made it to Angkor Wat (@ 1) which was spectacular as it is surrounded by a huge moat.

Cambodia wasn't my favourite place- there was alot of poverty and it was horrible to see whole families living on the streets. They also convert everything into $ so its quite expensive.
