So we got picked up from our guesthouse after what seemed like the longest day ever. We didn't really want to leave Koh Tao and were dreading the night boat! The boat didn't leave until 11pm but for some reason they picked us up at 8 so we had ages to kill. We were able to go and dump our backpacks on the boat before going into the town. We got on the ship it looked about 50 years old. It was so rusty I was convinced there was going to be an accident at sea! We got upstairs and there was just these thin mats all over the floor you just had to pick one and hope for the best you weren't lying next to an axe murderer, the mats were literally so close together it would be like being in the same bed as someone! And the 'pillows' were like breeze blocks, but harder! I'm sure I got eaten alive by bed bugs as well! Not helping matters was a small child playing on his gameboy - at full volume for half the trip, I was very close to throwing him overboard! Finally we made it to Chumphon at about 5am and after some confusion got loaded into a minivan. I know why they are called minivans because the are f'ing tiny!! We were cramped in there for the next 6 hours on the way to Krabi! We arrived at our hotel and slept for the whole day!
That night we were wrecked so we just went for a wander into the town which was about 10 mins away. It wasn't great and there seemed to be no tourists at all, or places to eat, most people seem to stay in Ao Nang. We got something to eat and went home for an early night, we were trying to detox after Koh Tao!
The next day we got the bus to Ao Nang which is about 20 mins away, we didn't know what to expect because loads of people said it was a bit manky but the beach was really nice and we spent the afternoon there. The sea was nice and cool which made a change as well! Had a wander round the town then headed back. Siobhan went elephant trekking which she said was amazing! Then another quiet night after going for a pizza! We stayed at the Thakis Grand Home which I would definately reccommend, the room was luxury for about 5 quid a night and the woman was really helpful and found us somewhere decent to stay in Phi Phi!
Krabi Town wasn't great I'm glad we didn't stay long, we were just excited to get to Phi Phi!
