So we landed on Koh Samui after seeing very little of Koh Tao we really wanted to make the most of it! We got a taxi to Chaweng beach with 2 Israli girls who were mad as hatters! They took out the taxi drivers cd and put on MJ and started blaring out Smooth Criminal to the whole motorway, we did learn though that the first icecrem invented was in Israel ha! We finally arrived at Moonlight hotel and the bloke said to us he didn't have a booking for us. We just looked at eachother and thought oh it will be ok like the last time. We showed him the confirmation and he said the website we booked it through he wasn't dealing with anymore because they were a bunch of nit wits and they should have told us it was fully booked, we were annoyed because Siobhan had paid the full amount on her card already. He said his mate down the road had a room so packed us off down there. When we arrived we were so glad we ended up staying there, the room was huge and had aircon! And it was much nearer the town. That afternoon we wandered into the town to try and find a camera for me but no joy! It's kind of like a bigger version of Magaluf, Maccy D's on every corner, BK, pizzahut, about 5 Boots, everything you need in one place but not Thai in the slightest! That night we decided to go and hit the town. We ended up in this bar chatting to a welsh bloke and some ravers from Oxford. The 'strip' is just like any Greek island and the bars were pretty much the same. We headed to the club Green Mango and had a bit of a dance before getting a pizza slice and heading home.
The next day we decided to work on our tans, it was the day before the Full Moon Party so we wanted to just chill. Our end of the beach was all exclusive hotels and it was hard to find a spot to sit because it was for guests only, but we found a small patch of sand and hoped they wouldn't kick us off. The beach is lovely and so clean, so we just played in the sea all day. That night we found the nicest restauraunt ever called Top Ten, we got in early for happy hour because it was half price. Turned out to be this gourmet place, actually the poshest place I have ever eaten and ended up costing about 4 quid! We got free breadrolls and dip and a continuous stream of water when our glass was low when you are a backpacker freebies are great! We had cable tv in our room so we just had an early night to prepare for the full moon antics!

We decided to go to the next beach along called Lamai and the website we made our booking through had an office there so we had to sort out our refund. After we had done that we went to the beach, we were disappointed it wasn't half as nice as Chaweng, it was really rocky like Koh Phangan, so we stayed a couple of hours then headed back for something to eat. Because of the date we left Bangkok and the order we did the islands we ended up on Koh Samui for the full moon party which is actually on Koh Phangan so we had booked a speed boat across. After we had filled up our water bottles with gin for the journey we were ready to go. We got picked up with a bunch of Swedish who were obviously in high spirits, they were so loud, I'm not joking I thought that my ears were bleeding, they were screaming so loud. When we got out the minibus we tried to lose them and went off to the beach to wait for the boat. We were meant to be getting on at 10.30pm but the speed boats only take 40 and it seemed like there was about 200 waiting! So before the next boat arrived the guy got us in a queue and counted out 40, we were 38, and 39. Then the Swedes from earlier came and pushed in meaning we wouldn't get on the boat. Anyway we had had enough of them so yes I'm afraid to say we grassed them up and they got left behind while we set sail to the full moon party, we waved them off as we left! We didn't really know what to expect, but we got dropped at the pier and got our ticket, only 2 quid to get in, bargain! Before you get down to the beach there's loads of stalls it was like a proper little festival so we bought some luminous paint and set to work graffeting eachother! Along the beach theres hundreds of stalls selling buckets and loads of different djs, flame throwers, lanterns and fireworks going off, it was mental! After a couple of buckets we had a bit of a rave, well tried to it's really hard to dance in the sand! It got to about 5am and we were wrecked, although the party was still going strong we decided to call it a night. We were q'ing again for the boat back, just sitting on a wall next to the pier when one of my flip flops fell off onto the rocks below!! I decided to try and rescue it, I was like spiderman up and down bits of driftwood over rocks and finally had to climb back up the pier! We were waiting ages when a man came over and said he had a private speedboat we could have a lift on because 2 of his friends had dropped out, we looked at eachother and thought why not! So we got on the boat, us, a swedish girl, 4 scousers, and bloke from Devon and 2 ladyboys who had come along for the ride! We got to the other end and we all got up to jump off. It wasn't a proper pier, just the beach so you had to jump in the sea to get off. It was literally 1 ft deep but the scousers were begging the driver to get us closer to the beach because they couldn't swim! None of the men would get off first the little weeds, so I threw my shoes to shore and hopped out before they had even put the anchor down, Siobhan followed and left the men there waiting til the boat got closer and they didn't have to get their toes wet. We decided to ditch them because they were wimps so we flagged down a taxi and got in. We ended up in Burger King at 8am covered in luminous paint stuffing our faces. We didn't wake up til late afternoon, when we did I felt like I'd been in a car crash, every bone in my body was aching! After going for supplies of water and crisps we went back to bed and watched rubbish cable tv all afternoon. It was a waste of a day but we couldn't even move! We managed to actually get dressed for dinner and headed back to Top Ten for some nice gourmet food to cure us. We were back in bed by 9pm! The next day we were heading back to Koh Tao. I'm glad I saw Koh Samui but I wouldn't go back, it was just like Benidorm! I'm writing this from Koh Tao where we have been for the past 7 days it's just like paradise!
