Hi from Mendoza! We've had quite a relaxing time here...its been a bit of a chiilout from a pretty busy first couple of weeks and a good chance to make some more concrete plans for the rest of our trip. On the day we arrived we just wandered around the city and went to have a look in the local park. The second day was a bit more active...we ventured on a 'wine and bike' tour where we toured around a small town called Maipu going from winery to winery, learning about how they make their wine, and, most importantly, tasting quite a lot of it! The next day we were supposed to be going horseriding but in the evening we decided it was about time we checked out the South American nightlife and unfortunately woke up over an hour after we were supposed to be picked up...oh well...something to do later in the trip. Needless to say we had quite a good night out!! Our next stop is Santiago. The journey into Chile is supposed to be only short across the andes...i'm sure you can imagine quite a picturesque journey...however...due to excessive snowfall we are departing tonight and going on a 36 hour bus ride around the Andes. We leave at 8:00 thursday night and then arrive 8:00 Saturday morning....this is real travelling. if we survive 36 hours of sitting next to each other non-stop we will update at our next stop...
