Since we've been in London we have done some sightseeing to fill in the time. Before we went on the Contiki tour we went down the River Thames and walked along Queens Walkway and across the Tower Bridge and towards the Tower of London, which over the years has been a fortress, a royal palace, and a prison and is home to the crown jewels (the Royal Family's). It was a cold day so not that pleasant. Both sites are pretty impressive and the history that goes along with them is just as impressive. The photos of this day are already on the blog.
After the tour in-between job hunting we again went down to the river and walked the opposite way along the South bank towards Westminster Bridge. We just spent the afternoon walking around the Westminster area looking at the sites. We will go back again as without jobs we have plenty of spare time! This trip we seen London Eye, Big Ben and Houses of Parliament (Palace of Westminster), Westminster Abbey, Trafalgar Square and Buckingham Palace.
Plenty of more things to see and do on the South bank and Central London like Globe Theatre, Hyde Park, London Eye, changing of the guard, shopping etc but will spread it out over the next few weeks while we have free time and for some until we get jobs as like most things cost money!!
