By George...Ive got it..I think!! It is now at least 4 days since we visited the Lavendar farm so will jsut have to catch up. Scottsdale was a lovely campsite and we met up with our firends Rob and Sally from Port Douglas. They joined us for a roast dinner. Only managed 7 vegetables but super yourkshire puddings! We had to eat very quickly. The temperature plummeted to 5c degrees. We stayed an extra day due to a power malfunction. Thank goodness we have our own NRMA man travelling so he and Keith were able to fix it. We girls played scrabble and I managed to win...(just thought I would throw that in casually..those who r reading this know my competative streak!) Today, we travelled thru the Bass Forest, a very winding road but absolutely beautiful. We stopped in a little town called Derby and vistied an original Bank of Tasmania building. It is now a gift shop. We bought some home made blackberry jam and tomato chutney. After that, we went to the Pyengana cheese factory. The cheese tasting was great ...much better than the coffee and scones. It was amazing to see the fully automated milking system. The cows are all eletronically tagged and must have been trained to go thru a series of gates leading into a dairy. The cows teats were then washed and suction cups applied all by robot. From there, the cows could go over to a rotary brush system, nudge it and get a wash and good back scratch...!!!! We are now on the North East coast "Swimcart Beach" on the Bay of Fires. The sun is shining, its a bit windy but around 25c.....dinner is in the oven and we have the most perfect beach side setting. Will post a picture tomorrow.
