Meikles Adventure
Woke up to a wee Jazzy once again climbing into our bed in the dark hrs of the morning, little possum! Both slept on 2 beds on the floor, instead of the bunk like before – seems pretty comfortable – the trailer tent so big anyway, we seem to still manage with the room. Late outta bed, tidy and off to the beach.
Yesterday's beach the water was right out and Sach couldn’t fish so we went to another bay on the other side of the camp. A bit more rough – but looked like there must be a tidal pool created by the rocks in one section which I think would be pretty great when the tide comes in. Spent a bit of time there – Sach no fish though & nearly lost his rod in the surf. The kids enjoyed themselves splashing around & I had a bit of a sun bake – such nice weather I tell ya!
Later we went back to camp for lazing about & lunch, even later we took a drive up to a place we’d passed on the way in called Whale’s Song where there was a café overlooking the water and camels (who we have found out later are no longer there as they went running off into the bush). A really magic beach though – oooh what I nice place to go for a swim – but unfortunately think it’s another spot closed off to us tourists – mostly Aboriginal land here and probably people’s homes we’d be driving into so we just gotta not go off the road really unless it’s a tourist signposted road we think. It must be a really fantastic place to live though – the beach outlook was just so different in this place with the café – Whale’s Song – fantastic looking place, if only we could go and take a little swim!
Back to camp with the kids yelling about going on the trampoline – so glad that it wasn’t yet too dark for that! Fire, supper, bed – wow that does sound like an eventful evening…
