Eventhough we have been travelling all the weekends, we haven't had any holiday from the school. Well, clever finnish students counted that we have to be at school only 80% of the classes, so we can easily take our own holiday and be one week away where ever we want. And this is exactly what we did. We asked for the leave from university, but they said that they cannot permit us to go out from campus because of the schwein flu. Well, all of us knew already, that it is not dangerous and in case much much less dangerous disease than normal flu. So, we booked our flights to different destinations. I personally traveled to Sichuan, West-China.
In Sichuan I stayed mostly in Chengdu. From there I visited many places near there but also couple cities further away. During my very first day there I went to see the pandas to panda breeding base. Oh my god how cute their were!!! This trip was about half day trip and I really advise everyone who'll go to Sichuan to see this place! In the evening I went to see the Sichuan opera, which was absolutely fantastic!
During my second day I went to see the city called LeShan. There was the world's greatest buddha statue, which is 71 meters high. In Leshan there was kind of hiking path for one day walking. Path went across the mountain area where the buddha was and then through one smaller village and some country side views. After climbing the stairs for 3,5 hours we finally got to the end of the path where was a beautiful temple with lake view. After this trip I had a dinner in Chengdu's food street called Jia Xi lu.
On my third day I took a plain to north Sichuan. There I went to see UNESCO's protected places called Huanglong and Jiuzhaigou. Both of the places were absolutely stunning! Unbelieveble that there are places like that in China. You can see some pics from the photoalbut "Travelling around China".
On the fifth day I came back to Chengdu and I went around the city. I visited for example People's Park which is full of traditional tea houses and the main plaza in Chengdu. There I saw a beautiful foutainshow with music. As awhole, my trip was so good. I really enjoyed every moment of it and I noticed that travelling in China alone is easy and safe(even if you're a girl). I made so many new friends all around the world and there was no day that I would had to travel without company.
In my sixth day I came back to Guangzhou to do some laundry and then I started a new trip for two days... I'll tell you about it soon! :)
