WE DIDN'T HAVE CLASS THIS MORNING!!!!So we had a bible study instead. We looked at a bunch of verses about being in the world not of the world. We focused on the fact that loving the world and flirting with is being a enemy of God.It was super convicting and something that I really need to work on.It was really encouraging to have so many people at our bible study this morning. We had 5 girls and 3 boys!!! God is working fiercely on this trip. Please keep all the people in this trip in your prayers that God would work wonders in all our hearts.
Today we went to the Bargello Museum.. Another museum.I'm getting a little bit tired of museum after museum. So I will be excited to mix it up a bit. After that we went to eat at Café Duomo.I had spaghetti again.. It was awesome again.
Then we went to the Boboli Gardens. The Boboli Gardens were a lot like the gardens at Versailles. There were the pleasure gardens connected to the Pitti Palace. It was like a maze in there with a ton of directions to go and lots to explore. There was a high garden and a low garden. The high garden over looked the back of the palace and the city on one side and the more country area on the other. This area had a fountain and lots of sections of different kinds of flowers. It was beautiful. In the high gardens I felt very small in comparison to the city and the mountains. But still I felt on top of it all because of the height. In the lower gardens there was a large fountain and lemon trees all around it.It was a circular garden enclosed mainly by shrubbery. In the lower garden I felt a lot more connected to nature and the beauty of simplicity.Instead of feeling so small in comparison to the surrounding world, I felt large and an important part of my intimate atmosphere.I loved the gardens. They were absolutely beautiful.I have really come to appreciate nature and outside because of this trip.It was a great escape and change from architecture and paintings.
After the Boboli Gardens we went to the Medici Chapel to look at some more art and architecture.By this point in the day I was exhausted and just wanted to go to sleep.
I was having a kind of bummed day, so after the Medici Chapel I went back to the hotel and took a short time and spent some time alone and with God.I realized today that I have not been alone for more than the time in the shower in almost 2 weeks.Going from having a lot of extended alone time to none is a huge adjustment. It hadn't been bothering me until today. But after spending some time by myself this afternoon, I feel much better.I spent some time in the word looking at James 4: 4-10.It was one of the verses we went over this morning in bible study.I feel like I learned so much from this verse. You should check it out!
Later we went to dinner, our whole group again.(Italy isn't doesn't know what to do with us? they don't particularly like big groups, and we travel in packs of 50!)We went to the restaurant that we wanted to go to last night. It was pretty good. I got a pizza.I am still waiting for somewhere to get a lasagna.Well.. That was my last night in Florence, we leave for Rome in the morning!! I'm pumped!
