After a lovely dinner last night in Gin Gin with Ted and Karen Thiel we slept really well and woke ready to explore a bit more of the area. We did a lap of main street Gin Gin and then headed off to find some rum.
We both thought that we had visited Bundaberg before but as we crossed the river to get in to town, we realised that nothing looked familiar - we think we had confused Bundy with Gladstone. Breakfast over we rode around town with the action camera recording our visit. Of course we rode passed the distillery and could smell the brew, but did not stop in for a taste test - no drinking and riding!
As we had plenty of time we rode out to Bargara hoping to see some turtle, no such luck. We then rode along the coast for a look at Burnett Heads, a pretty spot with a small marina and dry dock for boat repairs. We then retraced our route and ended up back in Bundaberg for lunch - does that count as two visits now?
After lunch we had to back track a bit towards Gin Gin through the cane fields before heading to Agnes Waters, our destination for the day. We are staying at Sandcastles Resort, on the beach, it even has undercover parking for the bike. Pizza and Bundaberg Ginger Beer for dinner tonight.
Tomorrow we will spend a bit of time having a look around Agnes Waters and 1770, we were a bit weary when we arrived this afternoon, I guess we are a little out of practice for trips longer than 1 hour! We will have to do something about that before our Grand European Tour next year when we will be riding between 300km and 400km every day for more than 3 months.
Does that sound like a good excuse for a few more bike trips?

Christopher Gee I am doing practise lap of the USA & Canada getting ready. Ginger beer sounds good while I enjoy Root beer over here
Craig and Marg I think you guys need to toughen up. At least let Greg spread his own vegemite. That would be a start lol
