Come with me on a journey through time and space
Day 3 of the connections tour - off to surfers paradise.
on our way we stopped at australias most easterly point, Cape Byron. site of a big white light house that shine over 40km out to sea, great views from their as the pics will show when i find somewhere quick enough to allow me to add them to the site.
Went to a few shops and had another BBQ before setting off again accross winding back roads to the stae border between NSW & Queensland. we changed timezone at this point which seemed really bizzare.
we stopped at Numinbah Valley, which is a sub tropical rainforest with a natural arch. waterfall to you and me. nice place and we learnt about a few poisonous trees and animals on the way. dont touch that tree.
We continued on past an old volcano called mount warning, except last time it went off, many years ago it gave no warning. This is the first place in australia where you can see the sun rise from.
finally made it to surfers paradise, the worst of the travelling over with now. Apparently surfers paradise has the highest plastic surgeries per head in australia and is only second to miami in the world. of course i made it my duty to search to see if this was fact.
we are in benidorm, nice hotel & stuff but it just reminds me of a spanish resort. it had 2 pool both of which were full of kids, a bit of a family resort. took a little dip in the poll, salt water pool which seemed a tad strange.
another night out at the "howl at the moon". classy place with a couple of pianists entertaining us as we ate. they screwed up my food though, they forgot to put my order through, took 2 hours but at least it was on the house, not bad as i couldnt decide what to have so i picked the most expensive thing on the menu, i nice fat steak. i didnt mind the delay it gave me a chance to throw a number of whiskeys down my neck. the groups really begining to bond now there are some great people on here.
Now out to a club, shooters. cool place started to get my drinking going, did disappear for the loo, came back and what the hell everyone was missing, soon realised they were roound the corner with shots lined up. which was nice.
a few more drinks and guess what im dancing on the stage.
we all had a chuckle at thomas's dancing to like a prayer.
i believe this was the night MAGMA begun.
people gradually disappeared leaving me, byron, jenn and the three irish girls drinking shots. flaming smbuca. unfortunately i tried to pour the drink in my mouth, dip my finger in it set fire to my finger and then set fire to the contents of my mouth. this i succeeded in doing but spat half of it out in a damp fireball over some of my new found friends.
i was one of the last to leave . drunk. this is becoming a habit.
funny moment was when Laura was chatted up by an aussie. "babe you make my balls ache." it didnt work.
