Come with me on a journey through time and space
Day 19 of the connections tour early start today 4.15am. off to kings canyon to walk over and around this awesome sight. the total trek is around 6-7 km, although some of that is pretty steep as the name of the first part of the climb suggests. cardiac hill. phew that was hard work, but was going to prove well worth it. with my bushman hat, flynet and what seemed like a few gallons of water we marched on. you have to drink so much water during the day. awesome sights looking down over the cliffs and some great photo's sitting on the edge posing with a huge drop below. seeing out for miles into the horizon, even as far as ayers again which was 150miles away. may have been 150km, i cant remember. we climbed down the canyon and back up the other side, this place was awesome for echo's. so of course i had to do a tarzan. had a bit of a burst of energy at the end of the walk, soon got rid of it by picking up the pace for the last bit. back on the coach for our trip back to alice. stopped at mt eboneezer on the way for some photo oportunities and then at mt conner. we came accross some kangaroo roadkill which had the biggest eagles you will ever see taking a bite or two out off it. these things were huge. sue-anne our tour hostdragged the dead animal away from the road in true steve irwin style. our next stop was jims place to meet dinky the signing dingo. world famous for his abilities. Diana volunteered to accompany the dog on the piano. as she done so the dingo jumped up on the piano and howled. it was later suggested that i should have a go, given my previous musical performances. after playing some random notes the dingo howled away and finally stopped and stared me in the face nose to nose and growled, new underwear moment again, Dont stare him in the eyes said jim. the dingo sniffed my head and i guess he realised i wasnt food. Step away from the dingo. I stayed at the palm resort, free lodging wahay. thanks ruth. took a nice dip in the pool, had an island in the middle. and then a trip back to heavitree gap for a reptile show. man these reptiles were cool, had a bearded golden dragon on my shoulder for what seemed like half an hour as the owner was busy showing the other creatures around. it was so cool everytime i turned my head to look at her, bossy, she turned and stared right back. i want a lizard. i however do not want a snake. held a massive snake not a nice feeling when the handler walks away and this thing starts slithering up your face. it was cool though was stuck with it for a while as the trainer had cleared off, heavy b*****. finally gave the snake back and it had decided that it might like to live in my pocket. after a few beers and a barrimundi dinner we headed out into town, back to bojangles for more booze and a dance. after a few sad goodbyes to people back to palm resort and officially the end of the connections tour.
