Day 18 of the connections tour we leave the rock today heading to kings canyon after a lie in, we dont leave until 9am. after a few hours driving its too hot to walk the canyon today so we shall walk it tomorrow. the campsite on kings canyon station (farm) was really cool. we were staying in tent/cabins but had our own area by the kitchen with somewhere to light a fire. next adventure was quad biking, wow what fun. after our initial breifing and you may die forms a couple of the girls opted out. these bikes were fun and quick dodging round trees and the odd cattle skull, through the sand. i did take a slight detour at one point, better to go off the track than into a tree i thought. after a hectic hour of quad biking a more tranquil trek on camel back. the camels were so cool if a little whiffy. an hour of just plodding along on the back of one of these things was so relaxing. our camel was called eddie, steady eddie. lucky we didnt get the freaky hairy looking beast called mo. banjo tried to eat my camera after wiping his nose on my back. after brief stops to watch flaming gallars fighting and the odd dodgy singalong we were back at camp with a sore arse. i had a bit of a john wayne stance and walk now. back to camp for dinner and a few fireside beers and chat. as i was usually the last to bed it was left to me to lock up and turn off allthe lights to the kitchen. there was no bloody lightswitch. i spent days looking for it, well 10 minutes maybe.
