getting into budapest off the early train made finding the hostel that little bit harder, besides the fact that we didnt get a seat on it and had to sit inbetween the toilet and a smelly tramp. we had to get two tubes then walk down a road for about a mile to find a hostel, which we thought would look similar to all the other hostels we have stayed in before. much to our surprise our hostel was just a guys flat in which he had shoved 8 beds into one of his spare rooms. it was a messy, and pretty dirty place with the cat laying on the beds and in the bath. but the people staying there were v.nice who we spoke to before going out, one from germany one from tokyo. we met gabor shorty after which again was nice to see a familiar face and he took us to the sighseeing bus which again, it was nice to be taken around rather than try and take ourselves around. it was veryhot in budapest and the sights were very pretty, we saw alot of views of the city from highup but the bus took us up so wasnt tiring. we wondered the city seeing all the sights then sat down to taste traditional hungarian food, which was literally just a taste. it was grilled chicken in paprika with noodles which was very very tasty but it was more of a chicken wing but still worth it. we sat by the river afterwardsa then gabor took us to this really cool bar which was an "art bar" filled with cool, weird stuff like mini's to sit in and other weird furniture, nothing was normal not even the lightshades which were made out of cheese graters. we met with the two people from our hostel in there and had some hungarian beer and hungarian shots called palinkak. we had a really good time but left at midnight because we were so tired. the next day it was another early start to meet gabor because we were doing the tour boat but had to do it before our midday train. the boat trip was nice but windy and we didnt have any time to get off the boat to look around. on the boat was a huge spider which crawled behind a panel of wood next to us so i pushed the panel on the spider and you heard a massive pop and spider blood went all over the wall which made grainne scream especially when it crawled out with only half a body. by the time we got off the boat it was near enough time to go back to our hostel and get our bags to get the train. by the time we got our bags, saw the market and made it to the station we had to get straight on the train and didnt have time to grab anything to eat, which made the six hour train journey that bit more painful. we spoke to some girls also backpacking europe to distract our minds from knowing that the last thing we ate was that chicken wing and noodles 24 hours ago.
