Well, we arrived in Delhi safely, with only a short delay. However when we got there it was thick fog, so we had to wait to be guided to the terminal, then had to wait for our luggage to find the terminal! It did not matter to us though, as our connecting flight was not for several hours. We found that our next flight was from a different terminal, which was quite a distance away, and there were no buses running due to the fog. So, we booked a pre-book taxi, with a Russain traveller (Alex) who we met at the airport. We were then to experience our first taste of Delhi... we walked outside into unorganised chaos. There were people and vehicles everywhere, and this was at about 4am. We found the pre-book stand and a taxi man took my receipt, then would not let us into his cab and drove off. We therefore had to pay again (only about 2GBP) but annoying non the less. So, I shall be much more vigilant from now on.
The taxi ride was an experience. The black and yellow cabs are very old and falling to pieces, and the driver took us at full speed through the fog, not being able to see anything in front of him.
After a long wait at the airport we boarded the shuttle bus to take us to the plane, but it did not move. We stood on this bus for more than an hour whilst various Indian men got angry with the officials. This worked a little and they brought us a packed lunch each! Eventually, after starting an stopping the engine several times (just to get our hopes up) we got to the plane and boarded.
