On the way back to Hanoi we met an Australian couple, Kelly and Paul (hi guys!), who we ended up travelling to Hue with. Unfortunately, all the trains were booked so we ended up catching our first night bus - an experience!

It started off vaguely exciting - a bit like having a sleepover! It was slightly less exciting at 3am when all the lights were turned on for the millionth time for seemingly no reason at all!

Nevertheless, we made the most of our only day in Hue and walked for miles exploring the old walled city. That night we treated ourselves to the first G&T for a while on the roof of the poshest hotel - lovely!

The good news is we've finally found the sunshine and are pleased to report that it's also followed us to Hoi An, where we are spending Christmas and where Gemma intends to spend an obscene amount of money (in Vietnamese terms!) getting shoes made.
