After a short tour of Antsirabe where Imogen wasn't too happy to walk through the crowds of Malagasy people we headed south towards Ranomafarna. It amazes us how we think we are in the middle of nowhere but if the car stops at least 10 children appears asking for Bon Bons! The children are so dirty but are always smiling and happy. Heading through a small village we came across an exhumation where apparently it would have been very rude not to enter the hosts house. Maman had lost her husband a year ago and the whole village was taking part in a huge 3 day celebration for his exhumation. We were given drinks and food but luckily Charly took on the eating part for us! Our hosts were so friendly and welcoming that we didn't want to leave. Heading further south we enjoyed a plate of chips each for lunch. The road became bumpier and bumpier and a few leg stretches were welcomed. A little Malagasy boy made Nick's day. A cheeky little lad copying everything he did. After buying a Madeleine cake from a small girl for 200 Ariary, the little boy was delighted and jumped for joy when Nick gave him half. The look on his face is something I will remember for years to come - he also loved seeing his little face on Nick's camera screen. Arriving at Setam Lodge in the dark we found our room before dinner and another earlyish night was just what the doctor ordered.
