Well it's time I wrote my final blog to end the story of our time in India. At the moment I'm looking out onto a rainy grey Welsh day which is a massive contrast to the sunshine and beaches we were recently enjoying! But real life had to start at some point and it's now time to move on to the next stage.
Having spent all that time in India I'm now appreciating the UK in ways I hadn't anticipated. It's a relief to understand the culture and customs without having to try and unravel the reasons behind things. And this country is so clean in comparison - I honestly never thought I'd say that! I'm really relieved to have a proper sprung bed again, any longer in India and I would have permanent back damage, and it's sooo good to sit on a sofa and lounge about properly.
There's such a lot I'm missing about India though, far too much to list. One of the main things though is seeing people, especially children, being content with what they have and not constantly in a struggle to buy more and more material goods. Kids in India seemed incredibly content with rolling a tire along the street, while those here are clamouring for the latest electronic toys.
I'm of course very happy to be back with family and friends, and the ferrets! Home is where the people you love are at the very end of the day... The photo on this blog entry is of Tau who sadly passed away while we were in India.
