Sun shining and blue skies for our last morning on Rottnest. Up fairly early as our luggage had to be placed out the front of our apartment by 8am. Plenty of time to clean up and get organised before catching a shuttle to Thomson Bay. Headed to the Bakery for some brekkie, wandered around town for a while and just relaxed in wait for our ferry departure back to Fremantle. Was a blast to catch up with Anne and Dave Connelly .... Bit of a sleep in, waking to light cloud cover that hung around for the day - only about 18 degrees. After brekkie, made our lunch, packed the backpack and headed off on our bikes. Stopped in Thomson Bay Settlement for coffee at Dome before starting our expedition, via Kingstown, stopping at Henrietta Rocks. So picturesque - incredible rock formations, brilliant water colours plus a protruding portion of a ship wreck. Popular diving and snorkelling area as plenty...

Woke to rain still coming down but so excited to see our location in the daylight .....even more spectacular, despite the weather. Took our time with brekkie and relaxing while fortunately the inclement weather abated. Strolled around our immediate area then decided to catch a shuttle back into town (Thomson Bay Settlement). Needless to say wasn't long before we spotted our first of an endless number of Quokkas! Once we had checked things out in sunshine chos...

Well Raymo the weatherman was awake bright and early, conscious of an impending storm, and had me out walking by 7am! Bit of a role reversal but so glad! Was an amazing morning. Little did we know our apartment was so nearby to the well know "Jacob's Ladder" ....we managed to jostle the early morning fitness fanatics and braved the 242 steps to the top which brought us to Mount Street and the start of Kings Park. Walked through a decent area, with brilliant view...

Arrived safely into Perth .... and surprise, surprise our luggage was last off the carousel! That will teach us for checking in early! About a 20 minute cab ride to our accommodation at the Mounts Bay Apartment Hotel - a large complex on the Kings Park side of the city. Checked in about midnight to our very comfortable and spacious apartment ....everything you would need for an extended stay. Pity we only have two nights! Managed a decent sleep in then wandered...
