Riobamba.. the coach journey took about 4hours, I suspected that having quite long legs it'd be a really bad 4 hours but heres the thing.. in a country where the population is as a rule shorter than ours, you get considerably more leg room... we are being done! Now if I am properly honest I don't have a lot to say about riobamba.. we got a taxi to our hostal which was unspectacular. We went for a mouch around town.. some potential shopping (but ya can't coz you'd have to carry it) but not a massive amount else. All in all fairly underwhelmed. It turned out that the devils nose train is not at this time travelling from riobamba (we had been warned that this may be the case) and that we had to go to alausi to get it.
So why did we spend two nights? Well we had our own room and our own telly and it played undubbed movies. And since the weather was impressively bad we went for a walk and lunch then spent all afternoon/evening watching movies, which included transformers 2, so that's me a happy camper! We msde a plan to be up early and head to alausi.
