Valparaiso is a seaside town built into the cliffs. There is a large Naval base here and the area is known for being a very artistic place.. and it really is. The Buildings have all pictures painted on them and sections of pavement. And the are is great.. really good quality. We spent a few days here just exploring the town and taking their hillside cable cars up and around town. The group at the hostel were really cool, Chile is much more expensive than anywhere...

Santiago.. is a great city.. full of life, at night no one goes out till 11/midnight.. we went out too early and felt throughly sick by the end of the night/morning. The sort of most westernised place yet, while the shops weren recognisable the brands were, and strip clubs everywhere. There is a square full of artists, with an ongoing chess tournament on the bandstand and many grand old buildings of the variety that leave you wondering why in the hell we don buil...

Now there is nowt to do in Uyuni except organise a salt flat tour, we spent just one night here before our tour left the next morning, and the honest to god highlight was the all you can eat breakfast at the minute man, pancake heaven (no english muffins tho - gutted).
