Valparaiso is a seaside town built into the cliffs. There is a large Naval base here and the area is known for being a very artistic place.. and it really is. The Buildings have all pictures painted on them and sections of pavement. And the are is great.. really good quality. We spent a few days here just exploring the town and taking their hillside cable cars up and around town. The group at the hostel were really cool, Chile is much more expensive than anywhere we have been previously but the hostel has a decent kitchen so we started to cook more regularly for ourselves. And also as winter is getting into full swing here the evenings especially, are pretty chilly (no pun intended). I don always like this time of year no matter where I am but on the plus side the hostel bedrooms had tellys with english channels which allowed me to just chill for a very unsociable day and watch all manner of tut telly.. fabulous, just what I needed..

Today we have left the comfort of Valpariaso to travel just down the road to Vina Del Mar for just one night, and we have just arrived so I had better get off the computer and go exploring.
