Another early start sees us on the road to Land's End, a two hour journey. The weather is beautiful and the scenery stunning. It is a shame that the natural beauty of the place has been marred by the building of 'Land's End Landmark', comprising a small complex of shops, restaurants and other dubious attractions. The weather is foul so we decide to head to a National Trust property not too far away from Kennacott Court. We decide on Lawrence House, described as a 'beautiful Georgian town house' in Launceston. Launceston is a nightmare of a place to find your way around especially when the road the sat nav wants you to take is no longer available. We set out after breakfast and our early morning swim to visit the town of Port Isaac, made famous by the 'Doc Martin' series. The weather is rainy and blustery as we drive through the neighbouring and unspoilt Port Gaverne. We are advised to park at the top of the town and walk as the streets are very narrow and difficult to navigate. We begin to appreciate the advice as we walk the narrow, sloping streets.
