Got up early today to arrive at Cat Ba island. It is very beautiful, green and mesmerising. It seemed like a wonderful trip to the hotel but nooooope! we went to a trek. And some of us only had sandals!
The tour guide was funny. He kept throwing things at us and making monkey noises. Then he totally disappeared in the trek.
We were treking up a massive hill/mountain. It was through jungle where the paved path wasn't as safe as other places I've treked. Like slippy stones and wonkey ladders with missing bits in it. Some of us were slipping in our sandals and so we, not including Brett, went barefoot. Needless to say we were very mucky. I slipped up a quite a bit as well and my bum was so sludgy.
Brett: I did tell Tom to buy walking sandals (with nice supportive strappy bits) but nooo he wanted flip flops: hahahaha
We got to the top of the cliff and it was fantastic. The view astounding. We climbed up the watchtower and it was even more beautiful. Brett wussed out early because you could see the bottom thropugh the floorboards.
Brett: I resent that :P It was very high and very hot... After the climb we got to the hotel, really nice rooms although they tried to give us dirty ones; bit odd. Tom slept all afternoon while I went for a walk around town (well for 10 minutes anyway hehe) and then we had dinner and went out for a couple of drinks with the other guys on the trip.
Brett: Included in our price was all the food for the trip. The first lunch was on the boat- flish, tofu, rice, morning glory, and spring rolls... every other meal was the same... by the end of it we had lost the will to eat! Me no will to eat... not good, not good at all! hahaha
