Arrived in Singapore at 08.20am. Got a cab to the hostel where I am staying and it is a plush apartment with its own pool and gym. The guy who owns the apartment has a little dog called yazoo and he is so cute. The guy was really welcoming too which was good and made me feel really comfortable. I am sharing the apartment with 3 other people, a guy from Toronto who I met briefly this morning and a couple who I havn't met yet, who arrived just before me this morning. I unpacked a few of my things and got sorted and then headed into the city on the MRT (Singapore's version of the underground except tons better). I got around really easily which was a surprise, Im not too good at reading maps hehe. I went to see the famous Raffles Hotel which was impressive and then had a look around the enormous shopping malls as well as doing a bit of local sight seeing. Don't think any differently of me but I went to McDonalds, yes McDonalds for lunch and nearly fell asleep at the table due to the humidy and jet lag. Its 33 degrees out here and cloudy so 99% of that is humidy... The hair hasn't reacted well haha. All in all quite a productive day so I am now off for a well earned siesta and then I might have a dip in the pool before a sanie for dinner, shower then bed. Tomorrow I am going to have a look around Orchard Road and might visit Singapore Zoo. Got to leave for the airport at 6.30am on Thursday morning so I definately won't be making it a late one. Just before I finish, I saw the funniest sight today.... An elderly man was walking down the street, took out his false teeth and then started flicking dirt out of them with a wooden stick (a bit like a chopstick). Was so bazaar but also very funny.
