Well what can I say what a great tour. Friday started early at 5.45am. Huss, the greatest tour guide ever, picked all 24 of us from our Accomodations and headed to the office to hand over our vouchers. When I was getting my bag out of the back, Huss accidently opened the luggage door and hit me on the nose which bled and now I have a cut there. Its faiding slowly but my god did it hurt hehe. On the first day we went to see the Olgas and did a 6km walk to see the Valley of the Winds. Wow that sight was amazing. I met two really nice girls, Courtney from Melbourne and Jane from the UK. They were great fun and I spent most of the tour with them. Hopefully I will catch up with Jane on the East Coast when she travels down just after me. That night we all made dinner and slept around the campfire in a swag. It was brilliant and so warm. Was fantastic to fall asleep out in the bush under the brightest stars. The second day was another early start and we headed to Uluru- Ayres Rock for 6am to see the Sunrise. Then we did an 8km walk around the base of the rock. It was absolutely freezing so I can't say it was enjoyable but it was great to see the rock up close. Afterwards Huss took on a short 1 km walk informing us of all the aboriginal history realting to the rock which was fantastic and really interesting. Unfortunately we couldn't climb it because there were strong winds and the climb was closed but I don't think I would have climbed it anyway given the steepness and height. In the afternoon we went to watch the Grand Final of the AFL game and took a ride on some camels. Later that day we sat and watched the sunset over Ayres Rock while drinking champagne yum yum. After that we made dinner and all had a go at playing the Didgereedoo around the campfire. Huss told us some great stories about the Outback and it was a great way of us all getting to know each other better. I was rubbish at playing the Didgereedoo but some people were great. On the last day we went for an 8km walk around Kings Canyon... 200 steps was the start ahhh. It was amazing and I got some great photos. On the bus on the way back we did a general knowledge quiz and my team won wahoo. I also held a Witchety grub and a dried Crocodile Penis which Huss somehow owned hehe. Was really sad to say goodbye to everyone last night when we got back. Just spending my last few hours in Alice Springs and then Im off to Cairns later. Fingers crossed I will really like it.
Miss you and Love you all xxx
