In the morning, Anya, Anna (one of the two new Spanish volunteers) planted tangaré trees, this time conveniently near the tree nursery. Anna and I worked together whilst Anya had to work on her own, until she went back, not feeling well. Anna and I had to replant about 4 as they were too near the ones that Anya had planted, so we weren't able to plant all of the allocated plants, especially as it started to be difficult to see clear ground under overgrown foliage covering fallen logs and branches. However, Walter called for an early ending and I gladly obeyed, having been pestered by mosquitoes, despite insect repellent.
In the afternoon, I volunteered to do the breakfast bread and donated cut-up sesame and peanut brittle as our "special dry ingredients."
It rained in the afternoon, lightly; however, despite the light rain, we still had a power cut - usually, we get a guaranteed power cut when it's heavy rain, not what we had today. Still, it's probably the first rain we've had all week, from what I gathered. It also gave us the chance to try out the candles that Eva had bought the last time we were in Quito: it cast a surprising amount of light, making the room cosy and warm (in actuality and emotionally) - it was a lovely evening, in fact.
