Arrived in Cherating on Friday lunch time after a bizzare night in a yocal village the night before, and a messy drunken night in Kuala Lumpur on the wednesday night! After updating our page on the wednesday and battling through cut throat alley like we said, we decided to "sod the budget and get drunk!" We sat in our fav little restaurant which we ate in every night (it was dirt cheap and bloody good food) and started on the beers, Gem included - they dont really do wine over here they have to pay too much tax apparently? So after quite a few large bottles of tiger, we decided to find somewhere else to drink - we found somewhere that did red wine woo hoo! So we got a bottle to share, but as the alcohol took affect, Chris decided he liked the red wine a bit too much and Gem forced him back on the Tiger to enjoy her wine. A little old guy called See came round selling gizmo puzzles (bit of a rip off) but as we were quite merry we decided to have a go, god knows how we did it but we kept solving them!! Ha ha See not laughing now... but we bought one anyway, bless the old guy by this time it was 12.30am, must have been passed his bedtime, and he'd been sat with us over an hour! We staggered home through the now desolate streets and awoke the next morning in our beds - a sure sign that we made it home, as we're not really sure how we got there!! Had to get up early as we had a bus to take us on a 5 hour ride across Malyasia to a town called Kuantan, now deciding it was not probably the best night to "sod the budget"!! Arrived in the town and straight away realised not the place we really wanted to be. Getting stared at, no english translations in menu's etc. Only good thing was our hotel room, it was massive, but we had very little to do. We had planned to stay here for a few days before heading off to Cherating, but think the one night will suffice. Had a cracking dinner in pizza hut, but not a lot else to do, not even anywhere to have a decent drink...time to move on me thinks, and that we did....
