Today we arose loaded the car up and headed out, thankfully the car started first time so no problems with leaving the lights on yet. Terry had kindly given us a scenic route to follow so we drove north through the Clare Valley Wineries region. We stopped at Mintaro, a nice little Historic Town which we had a walk around and popped into a pub called Maggie and the Magpie for some lunch. We then carried on to a little town called 'Laura' famous for its Ice Cream, we got 5 different flavours in a bowl; Mint Chocolate, Toffee and caramel, a berry one, Chocolate orange and Honey which were delicious. Unfortunately Rachel had lost her taste buds due to a cold so couldn't enjoy it as much as me. After ice cream and coffee we continues on our way and arrived in Quorn around 5:30 ish. We found the campsite and pitched the tent for the first time and thankfully there were no big holes in it so that was good.
We set up the stove and one of us held the umbrella as it was railing while the other cooked the pesto pasta. We later found out there was a lovely little hut, sheltered from the rain with a cooking area on, oops. We then went for a quick drive into the Flanders Range, we got to the bottom of a rock formation called the Devils something or other, before we realised it was getting dark and headed back. We had a quick walk around town seeing the railway line and the popped to a bar for a drink and game of cards before we headed back to the tent for sleep.
