I have been remiss and meant to blog before I headed out to Lord Howe. As it was I was too busy and so am writing after I have got back, but will pretend that it was before I went!
In the couple of weeks since my last blog I have been packing in the shifts at the Wharf Bar. The girls that I am working with are great and on Thursday one of the girls from work (Kate Fitz), her cousin Cian and my friend Suvi and I all packed into the car and drove down to Coogee to do the Coogie to Bondi walk. I had done the walk the other way around with Lucy and Andy and Kate and Cian had also done it a couple of times but it was Suvi's first time in Bondi. Additionally, it was the first day of the Sculpture by the Sea exhibition. We were pretty sure that the exhibition was on, but it took us a while to find it! Although it says that the sculptures are all on the Coogee to Bondi walk, the sculptures are actually just between Tamarama and Bondi! Once we got there though we weren't disappointed - some of them were fantastic - particular faves being the chicken, the turtle , the tank made out of bits from the office and the camel. We were particularly keen on any sculptures that you could interact with!
I delivered Copernicus up to Pittwater on Friday from Sydney in preparation for Lord Howe. There wasn't a lot of breeze so it was mostly a motor sail, but the flat seas meant that we saw a number of whales and a lovely pod of dolphins! I was also very pleased to get a glimpse of Palm Beach - where they film Home & Away!!! Pittwater itself is lovely, not far from the city really but another world away. One of the guys who is doing the Lord Howe race manages a hostel in the Kuringai national park so I will have to get up there for a couple of days.
I caught up with Carly the other night after watching her (pole) dance class - a really good show! I also had my first proper night out in Manly the other night in the Boatshed, ending up there after work. All good fun!
Otherwise, I am still loving life in Manly - still doing yoga most days, sailing a couple of times a week with a few different boats at different clubs (although I am now an official member of Manly Yacht Club). I am also voluteering with Sailability who take special needs children and adults out sailing which is good fun. Loving my room on Delwood beach and my walks home from town past the little fairy penguins!
