Hi guys,
Well what can i say, this is our last night in Phi Phi. What a beautiful island! Our favourite place so far! Landed on our feet with our resort, staying in a lovely hut with air con, a hairdryer and complimentary umbrellas! Very useful as it has been raining for the last 3 hours! The pool is great too, only 1 year old.
Went to the tsunami memorial garden, it's very sad. Can't believe how badly Phi Phi was affected, they are still rebuilding all the resorts and homes that were destroyed, the wave nearly covered the whole island! We also climbed to the island view point today, never been so hot in my life, it was well worth it for the view! Will upload the photos soon.
Went on a sunset tour last night, it was brilliant, altohugh we had a fight with a group of monkeys over our Kayak! Gillon was scared, although he won't admit it. Got video evidence though! We also went to the beach where they filmed the beach, it was beautiful. Gillon was in his element cos there was a massive football game, traveller's v Thai's! The Thai's won!
Saw some Thai boxing last night and eventually made it to bed at 4am! It was an interesting night. Shame about the Scotland and Georgia score.
Anyway hope you're all well, we're off to the Reggae bar for only 1 bottle of Singha each (hopefully)!
Love Jenni x x x
hi - you all would have been scared as well wait to you see the size of the monkeys and there were vicious wee things. we are going to try and get the video on the site but dont hold your breath.
thai boxing was good and anyone can go up and do it. was tempted but scared i will hurt someone with my vast knowldge of martial arts learned at dalziel rigby club!!! one of the guys we met ( a 6foot 7 inch swede) went up and done it and nearly destroyed this english boy. it wasnt his night as his team just got pumped 2-1 by the ruskies! managed to keep the cheers down to a dull roar in the english pub as the second went in - jenni wasnt impressed.
continuing on my daily training programme of up at 10 - 3 course breakfast. 6 hours at the pool, a 2 -3 hour siesta then too many chang beers! will be avaliable for prop next year at this rate. the ocassional day trip inteferes with this intense programme but next week in malaysia i will have to work out a new one. instead of endurance training like this one i may try speed - first to the bar then back to the sunlounger!
hope everyone is well missing everyone loads and loads!!!
take care
