Leaving Waco, Texas we made the decision to bypass Dallas and Fort Worth and head direct to Memphis, Tennessee. We could have taken the interstate highway all the way but instead took some of the lesser highways (all four lane other than a very short section) which took us through rural Texas and the smaller towns.
