And here I am - back in La Paz!
This is the second time I am actually ¨coming back¨ to a place in this trip. It feels a bit like coming home... familiar smell, places and faces.
This time I am no longer alone, and I am already half through! I tried to get back to the Loki hostel but it was fully booked, so I stayed at the nice Gloria hotel. Not too fancy...
Well, I decided to do 2 more things here before I go to explore the Rurrenabaque jungle and Pampas river.
One of them is the famous ATV trip available next to the city. Taking a taxi to the moon valley (Valle de la Luna) allows you to enjoy a few hours of ATV ride in amazing and different scenery.
I wouldn´t say that it looks just like the moon, but it does seem weird for this planet. Our weather was perfect and the ride was much fun. We ended up close to a cliff which gave us a beautiful view of the area.
Other than that nice jump photo I took there, I´m adding a video here to show you how creepy and dangerous the walk to the edge was...
Next on was the stupid yet funny ¨Cholita wrestling¨. It´s a comic show where wrestlers in masks, much like WWF pretend to wrestle each other. The highlight of the combat is when Cholitas (Bolivian women in traditional clothing) enter the ring and fight as well.
Like I said – stupid but mildly amusing… The fun part is that the crowd may throw whatever he wants to the ring including pop corn, food and water. The problem is that the wrestlers usually throw back…
Now that we had a bit of fun in the city – it´s time to move on to the real deal – the jungle!
