Here we are, finally made it to the birthplace of the sun.
Well, at least according to the Inca´s belief...
Actually Isla del sol is a lovely island in lake Titicaca, the famous huge lake between Bolivia and Peru (They say it´s the biggest highest lake that you can navigate a boat it. Or something like that...).
Anyway, the island itself is amazingly calm and poses some lovely views from... well... all sides actually... It´s quite big but its population is rather small and its main attractions (other than the wonderful view) are the Inca ruins that are spread around the island.
The ruins are quite impressive and features lots of details which makes you realize how much the Inca´s knew about construction. The durable stone buildings make you feel like you´re walking around an old city for midgets (The Inca were really short) :)
After spending the night at a crappy hostel - the cheapest so far (10Bols a night - about 1.2$) - I took the morning boat back to Copacabana and on to my next destination - Puno and the magical floating islands... :D
