Gibbs Locates
Up and at them this morning around 8am... A quick shower etc and we're good for another Continental Breakfast.......it's boiled eggs, Edam etc..... We dont have much to do today..we need to get to the Central Station to head to gay Paree....Our feet are not good after all the walking over the last 2 days, so we opt to cheat the Amsterdam taxayers by jumping on a tram. We think you have to buy oyster type cards to use them.....but no one checks if there's any British idiots on board...the only thing you hear is a recorded message that says...'please dont forget to pay'. Sorry about that. We owe you.
We hang around Central station waiting for the train and thoughts turn to our brief visit here. It's expensive on the beer front, you get the feeling they'd prefer to have more visitors smoking the legalised cannabis than have people drinking beer. Every drink has cost at least 5 Euros and more. Cycling improves the buttocks...as proven by the young ladies here with petite derrieres...there was no sign of an Aldi or Lidl supermarket and Poundland was unheard of.
We've stopped off in Antwerp for a few minutes but had my head on the internet which has cost me the equivalent of 10 pound for 3 hours. I'm assuming most Europeans are very rich......and some of them could be...as we've just stopped off in Brussels.....some very new shiny buildings bearing the EU logo...the rest of it was either graffitied or looks as if the Soviets had built it...which is probably something the EU approves of.
I put a symbolic two fingers toward their glistening towers as we move on out of the station.
Paris beckons!
