Here safe and sound and have hit the ground running. We checked in at our hotel at 8.30am after 30 hours travel time from Sydney and we were booked straight in. They must have smelled us and felt pity for the poor colonials. Nothing like a hot shower to get going again. We walked down the Thames and across the Tower bridge and then through the Burrough Markets for lunch. Buckingham palace in the afternoon and past Westminster. Early tea and to bed for a well needed catch up.
Today was a bus ride out to Hamstead Heath with a punt ride back to Regents Park and then into the city for a wander through Trafalgar Square, Covent Gardens. Another busy day walking and enjoying the beautiful English weather. That is not a miss print it has been perfect weather.
Several things of note. Every bartender is an Aussie, and I think I have seen every one of the 7,500 buses in London, yes that is right 7,500. They are everywhere and if you don't find one straight away going where you want to go, wait about 3 minutes and there will be another one. No wonder there always seems to be a Pom in charge of NSW transport, but it must be our government that stuffs it up as it is sorted out here.
Tomorrow off to Windsor Castle just out of London and a walk along a part of the Thames walk back towards London. 2days down and about 56 to go.
