If it is one thing that Germans do well is cars. While in Deutschland, I was fortunate to visit the VW Autostrada, a theme park built next to the factory in Wolfsburg, and the Porsche and Mercedes museums in Stuttgart. The Porsche museum is surrounded by the factory and everything Porsche.
The VW experience was more a theme of car design, engine technology, the move to green technology, and a showcase of the brands that they own including Audi, Skoda, Porsche, Seat and Lamborgini. If you buy your VW in Germany, it is delivered to one of the 2 60 metre high glass towers that hold 400 cars. The design museum showcases many non VW cars based on design or their mechanical layouts ie 2 cylinders, boxer motors etc. Very interesting eh girls. They even had a Ducati 1199, and then I remembered that Ducati is now owned by the Germans as well.
The Porsche museum had a special 50 years of the 911 and the Mercedes museum was what you would expect from Mercedes, the inventor of the motor vehicle, a full blown history of the car and Mercedes in a huge complex that is spectacular.
I have attached photos of the museums and they are all and amazing works of architecture.
