Getting lost while exploring
Woke up, looked out the window and could barely see the RV parked next to us as it was so foggy. Guessed we wouldn't be biking over the Golden Gate Bridge, so lay in bed for ages and cruised. Had a long shower and took my sweet **** time doing my hair etc. Came out of the bathroom to find the fog had cleared in apparent standard San Fran style.
Returned to the van and Sam had prepared pancakes. I don't think I will ever get sick of pancakes. Got a late start but headed to the Golden Gate Bridge.
Arrived and headed to find a bathroom......was stoked to find one easily but had to stand in line for twenty minutes. I'm really not sure what some ladies do in there, honestly.
Went to the information centre to rent bikes. Got told that they don't rent bikes here and that the closest rental centre was 2 miles away......fail. Decided it was too late in the day to bother wasting our time and would walk it instead.
In hindsight, we actually preferred the walk as we could talk along the way and really take in the view. As a bonus, we saved whatever it would've cost to hire bikes.
After walking the bridge, we had dinner at Eagle Cafe at pier 39 at Fisherman's Wharf. We shared a yummy crab entree which is a local speciality. We sat inside by the window for dinner and then moved to the balcony with our drinks after dinner where we could people watch and look right over to Alcatraz.
