We were greeted by Ellie at the bus terminal after another long 18 hour journey to Melbourne. It was good to be reunited with another Laos buddy and she kindly invited us to stay at her house just outside of the city in a town called Gisbourne.
Australian houses are so different to the UK. From what we've seen they all get a huge plot of land and everyone has the money to built their own house. It's because they have so much space. Australia is about 40 times the size of the UK yet has half the population.
While in Melbourne the one main thing we wanted to do was see an AFL game and luckily we managed to get enough tickets at the MCG for a mini reunion day with Ellie, Charlie and Nick. We spent Friday night watching AFL games with Ellie's family so we could learn the game and understand it. Then on Saturday we headed to the stadium. It's a lot slower than football but it was good to say we'd been to see of the countries national sports, especially in Melbourne where they're so crazy about it.
