The 12 hour drive from The Gold Coast to Sydney was pretty shocking. However, the pain was softened by the thought of us heading to spend time with Jayde in her lovely apartment.
Being in Sydney also meant reuniting with Laos buddies Alex and Mark and finally getting to spend some time with Fletch after 2 years. Activity wise as we knew Sydney was going to be a social call, we didn't plan on many sight seeing adventures. Plus, to be honest we fancied a break!
We've mostly spent our time chilling out, going for a few drinks with Alex Mark and catching up with Jayde. I also finally got to meet Regan and Dana on Anzac Day which was great!
Alex and Mark took us out for the weekend too and as it was good weather we got the chance to experience our first Aussie Barbie. They also took us to the Geordie Shore house, for a laugh! Even more amusing when we spotted Gaz outside and Liam began fast walking down the hill to meet him. Before we even got half way down the hill Gaz ran away inside. Apparently he's too 'famous' for photos!
We have had 7 days in total in Sydney so have made sure we visited all the must do spots such as Bondi Beach where I was reunited with Fletch for the day :), Sydney Harbour bridge and the Opera house. We also took a few trips across the water on the ferry to Manly Beach an Taronga Zoo.
The city of Sydney itself isn't actually all that. It's very modern, but hasn't really got anything that has wowed us. It's the beaches and the suburbs, especially Surrey Hills where Jayde lives that we love.
There's big rivalry between Sydney and Melbourne, and we always said we reckon we'd prefer Melbourne. However after this week it's going to be tough to decide. Over to you Melbourne!
