San Diego is known for 70 miles of beautiful beaches and mild temperatures. What better way to experience it and take advantage of the hostels free shuttle to and from La Jolla every Thursday. La Jolla is known as 'The Jewel' of San Diego and features an upscale hamlet of hotels, boutiques and galleries. We visited La Jolla cove, which is a tiny beach, sheltered by picturesque cliffs and offers stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. From here we headed along the coast walk trail had a smoothie in one of the beach front cafes before making our way back towards the children's pool where the seals called home. The sun had come out for the afternoon and we enjoyed 45 minutes watching the seals play in the water whilst topping up our tans.
