We had landed in LAX airport and now all we had to do was get through immigration, which I had been warned that it could take a while. I had not been informed incorrectly! We queued for nearly three hours and when we made it to the front of the line the staff kept moving people in front as they had to make a connecting flight.
Finally through customs, we met Mary, a friend of mine from university who I have traveled with before. I was so excited to see her and hear about the start of her trip in San Francisco. We must have just missed the previous Flyway bus to West Hollywood so we waited half an hour for the next bus. I couldn't believe we had made it to the famous Los Angeles. When we arrived at Banana bungalow our home for two nights we were pleased that we were the only guests in the room.
After taking a shower we walked part of the 'The Walk of Fame' where we barely recognised any of the stars names. The walk of fame is on the famous Hollywood Blvd, a tribute of the thousands of actors, actresses, artists, musicians who have made outstanding contributions to television, radio, the music world and beyond. On this street are pink stars with the names of the honoured engraved.
Afterwards, the three of us headed to The Palm, this is a Thai restaurant next to our hostel. It was very busy inside and the menu had so much choice we thought we couldn't go wrong. We had forgotten we were in America when we ordered as the portions were large and they did bottomless drinks and topped them up before you had even finished the last one. Our first meal in Los Angeles was great and I would defiantly recommend a visit if you are in the area.
