Scary tailors and full moons!!
Okay so, we still haven't covered the last night in nha trang. In short: free festival, free coffee, free mojotos, free hairstyling (courtesy of the overenthusiastic ladies of the red sun bar). Amaaazing drummers, fan dancers and a girl band singin abba. Badly. But dresses in baby pink tutus whilst playing violins and flutes, what more could you ask for?!?!
We then left for Hoi An where we ha been told about the 100s of tailors who are able to make you pretty much anything in a day, so needless to say we were very excited to get some clothes made! Alex got a gorgeous Black dress and playsuit made, tanita some skinny jeans and georgie and playsuit. However much to georgie's disapointment her playsuit looked more like a onsie swimsuit from the 1930s. When she tried to explain to the tailor that she didn't want to pay for the second half of it, she unleaded a tailor monster!!! Screaming and yelling and throwing of things onto the floor ensued and so we ran for it!! Georgie spent the rest of the day paranoid that the lady would hunt her down and b**** slap her with the play suit! As per the crazy Aussie peado popped up from nowhere with a call of 'hi guuuuys!' a sound that puts fear in our hearts and pace in our step. On our one and only night in hoi an we were lucky enough to have stumbled upon the full moon festival. However it didn't realllyyy seem to get going. By which we mean it seemed to be more of a local family affair with colourful handheld and floating candles. As opposed to the more raucous festival scene we're accustomed to... The next morning we set off for hue (an hour and a half late, grr!) Standard bus journey being thrown in the air whilst speeding along the edge of a mountain. Just our luck to have Aussie weirdo on our bus, but we hid well it seems managing to avoid him. When we got to hue we checked into 'Why not? Hotel' which was then great fun trying to explain to our open bus tour organiser over the phone. She just did not get that i was not asking her the question! However, eventually I managed to explain the situation and so now we are on our way to Hanoi this evening for the last four days of tanita and alexs trip! (alex says she's not coming back home, ever)!
