soo i'm very behind on the blogg, computers are a bit s*** slow, but dont always have the time and also cba lol also the picture here and where i am on the map isnt correct
just to warn you this keyboard is awful im constantly smackin it so not everything may make sense
anyyyway, so Hoi An, seems like ages ago and i prob cant remember everything but here goes
we thought it was a sleeper bus we would be getting but it wasnt, and the a/c didnt really work very well so got a bit hot but noentheless an ok journey.
we stayed at the best hotel yet, $7 each a night which is the most we paid and is v expensive, but the room was amaziiiing, one king and one double bed, masssive room, tv, then marbel bathroom and an actual bath, and a wardrobe and stuff - like a real hotel, this included a buffet breakfast which we , especially me, took full advantage of!
we also had a pool so one day we just spent sunbathin out there, like the 2nd time we have actually managed to sunbathe
the town of Hoi An is lovely, a really nice town, with a river front thats really pretty and lots of small placs to eat and drink. A market on the river front, and lots of shops selling tshirts etc, but loads and loads of tailors.
I didnt get anything made as i didnt know what i wanted and wouldnt be wearing it for a year so i didnt bother, but james got a 3 piecesuit in some cashmere materialand had to go in for a few fittings. the only thing i bought was a simple dress.
so we stayed here in total 5 nights. the hotel had pedal bikes free of use so we took these out a couple of times. we cycled once to a beach and had dinner, and then another time we cycled around the town and across the river. We got really hungry, and needed to cool off as riding around in the sun is not an easy job!so i wanted a shrimp and avocado salad as ive had this a few times and loooove it. so we found a place on the river that had it, we ordered, but the food was taking ages to come, me gettin more hungry, finally it comes - jamess was normal, my salad came in a bloody martini glass, such a joke, it was really good but gone in 2 mins, so ihad to order a bowl of plain rice to fill me up, very disappointed indeed
there was a resturant on the river front called friendship and it had the best meal every, consisting of white rose - hoi an speciality, which is like pork dumpling things, wontons and cao lao - a noodle dish. all for like 1.50 and very filling! loved the white rose indeed.
another day we got the shuttle bus to another beach, which was almost empty and a really nice beach, but the sand was so hot getting to the sea was an effort for me! too hot to even sunbathe
the 2nd night we went out for some drinks and found a really nice bar called Before and now, which james thinks was amazing and tells everyone we meet to go, its nice bar with popart around, but its just a bar. had a few drinks here on happy hour, then got a leaflet for a place that did free buckets at 11pm, so at 1045 we started to go there and this guy offered us a lift for free on his bike, fair enough we both hopped on, but the weight of us brought the bike down loads and we kept hitting the floor a bit which wasnt reat, plus the uy was on his phone for most of it and even though the roads were preety mush deserted i didnt like this!!
Got to the bar just before 11,weoulndt have made it if we walked, and it turned out it was a free bucket if you ouht something scaaaaammm, o well we stayed till closing and got motorbikes home for cheaps.
on one niht we were walking down to the river front, and all the shops had things burning outside the shops, like literally paper in a bin burning, and on ttabels they had ''ófferings' to their od, which consited of like a watermelon, looked funny indeed. learned it was some festival oing on to do with the moon or something
heading down to the river the roads were packed, which normally they aren't, motorbikes and people everywhere. saw a mini parade going by, and it was well tacky, but still nice. down by the river people were everywhere and they were all sendin candles in mini boxs into the river so it look lovely and a really good atmosphere. had a good dinner, then had drinks and this man was singing weird s*** stuff on a boat outside, not sure why we chose to drink there tho.
on the last night we actually made it to a club! after cheap drinks at a cople of bars (obviously at james fav bar) we met 2 germen men, the only non rahs around really. after getting quite tipsy we learned that there was a club on the beach so we all decided to go to hat, outside the bar was a free shuttle bus to it, so we tottered outside and the staff pointed to the bikes, hummmb odd but still we got on and got to the beach. next thing the bike man is charging us and telling us that only the shuttle bus is free, dam how did we not see that one! so i walked off refusing to pay but he kept coming back, asking for an outraeous fee. ended up giving him about 1/7 of what he wanted and he went off. the germans bought us both buckets and drinks which was nice. i tried to play some pool but was worse than when sober, and can't remember much else really. we did make sure we got the FREE shuttle bus home tho.
even though the next day i felt rough i still made it to brekky - i was not missing out, but james wanted to pay extra so we could stay in the room and sleep longer, so we did, lazy pointless day watchin tv and packing saying goodbye to the best room ever, then on a sleeper bus to the beach town of Nha Trang!!
