The journey was fine, with the A/C i obviously got cold, with my ad body thermostat in force.
We arrived at about 8am and stayed where the bus stopped off and the hotel was our cheapest yet at about 6quid for a twin with a/c. not bad.
WE walked around the town in search of breakfast, the heat as usual, already killing us. The heat was too much at 10 am, so we asked if there was a pool to use near by. We ended up at a 5Star hotel uisng there pool. It was amazing,We stayed here for most of the day, but due to previous sunburns tanning was not really an option, :((( The hotel andd grounds were amazing, but we stayed until the sun set, making the most of our one day here.
The next day we walked to the imperial city, as Hue used to be the capital of Vietnam. Some of the grounds were still being refurbished, but it was still god to see. That night we had dinner at a jappanese for sushi and tempura, it was goood. On for some drinks, they were too strong for me and i had to order mroe 7 up to try and dilute the taste of the Absolute away.
The next mornign we were picked up for our boat trip, by motorbikes.unexpected. The boat drove us to temples and tombs, we didnt g into some as you had to pay, and waiting for the rest of the group was a bit of a drag, especially in the humid heat. We had lunch, on the floor on the boat, which was actually nice, but sitting on plastic chairs for a good part of the day was uncormfortable. However the last tomb was impressive, up a mountain of stairs, for a good view. The tomb itself was heavily embellished with mosaics coverin the floor and walls, the ceiling was elaboratly painted with dragons, and it had been painted by feet, very cool. Short bus home.
Out for a meal and an earlyish night, ready for the bus to take us to Hoi An the next morning.
