well the bus journey wasnt great. a 12 hour sleeper bus that we thought wasnt even coming for us, then it was delayed.
After around 2hours driving the bus stopped and AC went off, we were on the back so it got hot quick. eventually i got off to try find what was goin on but we were sstuck in some major non moving traffic jam. after an hour we learned that it was due to a crash or something. a while later we went with these americans to the crash, which was a lorry full of bags of sand turned ouver, and a bus on the side of the road, and a crane so sort it, and people around, but noone actually doing anything to try to clear the wreckage up, typical. We went to some layby, awful and dirty, where they had this half dead bird in this metal thing, not nice. the traffic looked like it started to move, so we headed back to the coach. but we didnt start moving for ages, luckily the AC came back on so sleeping at least was possible. so 3 hours at a standstill, then due to the volume of traffic and the tiny road, the traffic took a goo 2 hours to clear and we were on our way again, so we arrived about 6 hours late at midday.
we did the standard, going to the war museum, but it was so biased, and made vietnam sound great and the americans horrible, and missed chunks out in the timeline, and never explained things properly, its just was a confusing trip!
A trip to the palace was disappointing, but it consisted of just a big, unipressive hotel looking builing, full of a load of rooms of chairs, think we missed something as a woman was taking a photo of the most boring door in the world, that would have led only to a storage cupboard, v strange.
on hot days we did the standard, walk around and head to a shopping mall to cool off. one was very post indeed, but james was cultural and ate a KFC.
Another day was spent at the chuchi tunnels, but not sure how much i believed some of the conveniently holes they hid in, but the tunnels they used to crawl in, which had been widened for westerners, uuguh they were tiny i got out at the next exit i couldnt do it!! A very random movie was played at the start describing how brave the chu chi people were and how they were bombed and how buildings homes and pans (yes pans) had been bombed.
